Coral Gables: The First Hundred Years - Paperback

by Patrick Alexander (Author)

In January 1900, a thirteen year old George Merrick arrived in his new Florida home, a wooden shack out in the unpaved wilderness. Over the next twenty years, he converted that humble shack into into a beautiful garden city. One hundred years later Bloomberg would report Coral Gables as the most sought after and expensive city in the United States and the third most expensive city in the world. In time for the city's centenary celebrations, this book tells the story of how one man's vision and determination created a tropical paradise.
