HASH CHRONICLES Part I: I Know What I Know - Paperback

by Galen Easton (Author)

In the fall of 1966, a young man walked away from everything expected of him and into the unknown - hitchhiking and drifting from Los Angeles to Reykjavik, Glasgow, London, Paris, and beyond, chasing something he couldn't yet name.

HASH CHRONICLES Part I: I Know What I Know is the first half of a two-part memoir tracing that journey - through the counterculture's early tremors, across borders both literal and internal, into Spain, Morocco, and Algeria, and finally reaching Amsterdam. It is a story told with the clarity of hindsight and the honesty of someone willing to look back at who he was at twenty, without flinching and without apology.

This is not nostalgia. It's testimony - a firsthand account of a year that shaped a life, written six decades later by a man who has finally decided the story is worth telling in full. Part I lays the groundwork: the decision to go, the people met along the way, and the version of the truth the narrator was ready to know.

Part II picks up where certainty runs thin and consequences gain momentum.
