Author Biography

Old West historian Dennis McCown spent sixteen years researching and writing the critically acclaimed biography, The Goddess of War: A True Story of Passion, Betrayal, and Murder in the Old West. During this period, McCown also recorded a huge variety of names from official records that, as a member of SASS, the Single Action Shooting Society, he recognized as helpful for choosing acceptable monikers. He collected these amazing names for his book Slippery Jack.
