This book includes abstracts and transcriptions taken from York County, Virginia Order Book No. 14 covering the period from 24 January 1711/12 to 15 March 1713/14, which contains deeds, orders, wills, bonds, inventories, indentures, agreements and depositions. These records contain a wealth of names and other information, such as the name of the deceased, the type of document, dates of signing and probate, heirs, executors, administrators and witnesses. Items in the inventory are generally described, but not in detail. The names of all slaves and white servants are included. A full-name index with separate headings for Slaves and Justices adds to the value of this work.
